Art, Library, Music, Physical Education and Spanish
AT ST. CLEMENT'S WE ENCOURAGE CREATIVITY AND MOVEMENT IN OUR STUDENTS
Our students' artwork is celebrated throughout the school year and with a special night dedicated to showcasing their work at our BRAVO Expo. Student artwork is also displayed at the Saratoga County Fair each summer and at the Empire State Plaza during Catholic Schools Week.
Our students explore books of many genres. Each year our librarian focuses on a specific theme. This year year's theme is The Secret Garden of Books. Students create an annual school-wide story presented in an assembly at the end of each school year.
Our music teacher makes singing fun and engages students who participate in our popular Christmas Concert. Instrumental music lessons are offered for children in the 3rd grade and above through the Paul Effman Music Company. (Follow the link for Band information and registration forms on the Extracurricular Activity page.) The band is showcased at the Christmas Concert and during the BRAVO Expo! as well. Guitar lessons are available after school. Brett Grigsby is the guitar instructor.
In 2017 we made huge improvements to our existing playground equipment. Children are outside for recess whenever the weather permits. Our physical education courses are timely and fun and centered around thematic units. Each year our K-5 students participate in our Field Day and the Race for Education.
Spanish is offered to all students from Pre-K through Grade 5. Learning a second language exercises the mind and expands our students' world awareness.
