Philosophy & History

PHILOSOPHY

All children are creative, inquisitive and possess a consuming desire to learn, to integrate new discoveries and to find order in their environment. We believe that each student is a unique person, loved by God and involved in a lifelong process of personal development, learning and growing in faith.

St. Clement’s Regional Catholic School is a co-educational Catholic institution dedicated to academic excellence and vibrant faith. At the core of our educational philosophy is the conviction that all learning must be viewed in the light of the Gospel. Our goal for continued growth as a Catholic Christian Community is based upon a thirst for peace and justice issues and an emphasis on freedom, respect, conscientious responsibility and the development of a spirit of service that is sensitive to the needs of others.

Our child-centered program is committed to identifying and developing each student’s talents and, working together with the parents, to enable them to grow and mature with confidence and self esteem in an ever-changing world.

HISTORY

St. Clement’s School was founded by the Redemptorist Fathers and opened in 1918 under the guidance of the School Sisters of Notre Dame.

In 1985, the St. Clement’s Board of Education was established to promote better organization and growth of the parish religious education program, the adult education program and St. Clement’s School. The board was restructured in 1987 and its sole focus was the elementary school.

St. Clement’s School currently serves students from Early Childhood through Grade 5.
