Alumni Association at St. Clement's School
The Alumni Association of St. Clement’s School was formed in the spring of 1994, on the heels of the school’s 75th anniversary celebration. A volunteer committee, including alumni and parents of alumni formed a nominating committee to establish a Board of Directors. Maureen Buffardi Winney ’70 assumed the Presidency on that initial Board.
A mission statement was conceived and the development of an endowment fund dedicated to supporting the non-operational needs of the school by raising funds to support a continuing “Grant Program” was established. This program was in response to faculty and administration’s requests for support of projects that were over and above the normal operating budget. It has become an annual process. The program has grown to provide as much as $30,000 in annual grants.
The Endowment Fund was successfully grown to $100,000 over the first 8 years and has been held at this level. The earnings from this fund are used in the Grant Program.
The first Equestrian Festival and only fundraiser, currently known as The Spring Ball, was held in May of 1995. The silent and live auctions at this event are the key to the evening and raise thousands of dollars. The event is still annually held in each spring.
Currently there are 8 members of the Board of Directors. Anna Farone is the sole charter member and current President. Annamaria Missurelli Dalton, Greta Theisen McCauley, Rick Schumaker, Missy Waghorn Pecora, Melanie Smith Eggleston, Martha Schweiker Ray and Cathy Molteni complete the Board.
