Jr K Program in Saratoga Springs, NY

The St. Clement’s Jr K program is for older 4-year-old and 5-year-old children. The program prepares children for their kindergarten year. Jr K is a literature and phonics based program that emphasizes kindergarten readiness skills. Curriculum integration of mathematics, science social studies and religion forms the core program. Children attend Art, Music, Spanish, Physical Education, Technology, and Library classes. Various field trips enhance the curriculum. A teacher and a teacher associate staff the program. The maximum class size is 20 children.

Full day Jr K begins at 8:00am and ends at 2:00pm five days a week. Pre-K Extended Day Program is available for our Jr K children between the hours of 2:00pm and 3:00pm for an hourly rate.

Tuition is billed in ten monthly installments through the FACTS Tuition Management Company. Payments begin in July. A nonrefundable registration fee of $300 is required upon application ($250 to be applied to tuition).

Registration begins in November.

Jr K Staff

Deana OTooleMrs. Deana O’Toole, AA
Mrs. O’Toole came to St. Clement’s in September 2000. She previously taught Pre-Kindergarten for seven years at St. Jude’s in Wynantskill. She received her AA degree in Applied Science from the Hudson Valley Community College. Mrs. O’Toole has attended numerous seminars and workshops sponsored by the Albany Diocese. She and her aide, Mrs. Diane Kircher, provided an exciting learning experience for those who wish their child to be given one more year before their entrance into kindergarten.

 

 

Mrs. Jennifer Dalto, MS

Mrs. Jennifer Dalto came to St. Clement’s as a Jr. K teacher in September 2011.  She received her BS degree from Springfield College, Springfield, MA.  She earned her MS from Wheelock College in Boston, MA.  Mrs. Dalto has permanent certification in NYS in Pre-K-6 and Special Education N-9.  She has team taught in an integrated first grade classroom as well in kindergarten.  She provides a hands-on approach to learning.  She involves parents in her classroom activities.  Children who have spent the year with Mrs. Dalto in JrK are very well-prepard for their kindergarten experience.  Mrs. Dalto and her aide, Mrs. Cunanan, provide a warm, nurturing environment where children are encouraged to develop their skills and talents.  Mrs. Dalto presents an integrated curriculum which stimulates her students’ curiosity.
