The St. Clement’s School Hot Lunch program is run by parent volunteers each day of the week throughout the school year. Hot Lunch includes a fresh fruit choice, a fresh vegetable choice, garden salad and a main dish indicated on a monthly menu. Hot lunch is $2.50 daily. Lunch cards may be purchased for 20 lunches at $50. Extra helpings cost $1.00.
Hot lunch does not include milk. Milk (white or chocolate) can be purchased for .25 cents per day or ordered for the entire year at the start of school for $44.
Snacks are available for purchase each day. Prices range from .25 to .75 cents per snack. There is a limit of 2 snacks per child. Some of the snacks available to purchase are chips, cookies, cereal bars, fruit rollups and on certain days ice cream will be available to purchase.
Each day 5 people are needed to manage the Hot Lunch Program. Included are 1 crew leader, 1 cashier and 3 worker bees to help prep, serve and clean up. We are always in need of volunteers.
Please consider joining the Hot Lunch Program as a volunteer. A full shift is 9 am to 1pm but we are flexible and happy to accommodate your schedule. Some volunteers work between 9-11, 11-1 or 10:30 – 12:30; some once a week, some biweekly and others work once a month. For the safety of small children, volunteers may not bring younger children with them.
When you volunteer, your children eat for free that day. And, if you sign up to be a crew leader, one of your children will eat for free for the entire school year. Plus, they will enjoy seeing you at school. Working Hot Lunch is also a great way to meet other parents. So, talk to your friends, volunteer together and even swap babysitting duties. Grandparents are welcome!
