Discipline

Students, teachers, parents and the administration work together to create a comfortable learning environment.  Each teacher works with his/her class to create a list of acceptable and unacceptable behaviors and the means by which unacceptable will be addressed.  During this process, the values of self-discipline, accountability for ones actions and respect for each person as an individual are stressed as cornerstones to guide behavior.

Involvement of parents and reinforcement by the administration are options that each class has built  into its own individual program.  All people involved are asked to stress the positive aspects of discipline by pointing our and rewarding those behaviors and attitudes that are inherent in our curriculum and school life.

The goals that we pursue in our program are a focus on improving behavior; improving the student's self-esteem; an increased sense of individual responsibility; and developing accountabililty for actions.
